Update: Nonames’ invitation to Blitzkrieg Masters revoked

UPDATE JULY 25th: Yesterday we announced that nonames had their Blitzkrieg Masters Amsterdam invitation revoked after we were advised to ban a suspicious player by Bulkhead Interactive for cheating during the online qualifier. Bulkhead Interactive have since reversed their decision, and nonames’ invitation has been reinstated as a result.

UPDATE: Since posting, Bulkhead Interactive have issued an official developer ban on the offending player’s account.

We have received numerous complaints based on the suspicious actions of a player from nonames. Based on evidence gathered, our anti-cheat team have unanimously concluded the player is using banned methods to gain an unfair advantage against their opponents. We contacted Bulkhead with our findings, and they advised us to ban the player in question.*

As per section 4.3 in our rules, we have issued the offending player with an indefinite ban from all tournaments by The Plays.  The offending player has been provided the evidence which supports this decision, as well as the right to appeal as per our rules.

As a result of this ban, nonames have had their Blitzkrieg Masters Amsterdam invitation revoked and we will hold a further invite-only qualification tournament which will feature the teams in which nonames knocked out during Blitzkrieg Masters European Qualifier Round 1. Dates of this tournament have yet to be decided and we will work with the affected teams schedule this.

Changes to Blitzkrieg Battle

We’ve seen massive success with Blitzkrieg Battle quickly becoming the premier tournament in Battalion 1944. This has allowed the Blitzkrieg brand to expand into hosting the world’s first Battalion 1944 LAN tournament which took place at i62 this past weekend, and has also allowed us to run initiatives such as the Blitzkrieg North American Community League. Blitzkrieg Battle is evolving, so we’re announcing some changes to prepare for this.

Welcome Oceania!

As we move into our 8th week for Europe and our 4th week for North America, it’s time for us to move further across the world by welcoming Oceania as our latest supported region. The addition of Oceania allows us to cement ourselves as a global brand and plant the seed to grow Battalion on a global scale.

Oceanic teams can register for the first OCE Blitzkrieg Battle by following this link.

The introduction of Battle Points

Teams will compete each week for Battle Points from Saturday 7th April for all regions. These points will translate into a regional ranking system for all Blitzkrieg events, as well as expenses covered for Blitzkrieg LAN events. Every team who participates in a Blitzkrieg Battle will be awarded 100 Battle Points, then additional points will be awarded depending on finishing place. The regional rankings will be available for public viewing on the Blitzkrieg website and are updated every Monday.

  • Participation: 100 Battle Points
  • Champion: 1,000 Battle Points
  • Runner-up: 750 Battle Points
  • 3rd Place: 500 Battle Points
  • 4th Place: 250 Battle Points
  • 5th – 8th Place: 200 Battle Points
  • 9th – 16th Place: 150 Battle Points
  • 17th – 32nd Place: 50 Battle Points

Battle Points cannot be transferred across multiple regions. In the event of a team split or roster swap, Battle Points will transfer with the majority (3 players or more) of the original team.

Registration has now opened back up for all Blitzkrieg Battle events, head on over to the new website to get in there quick!

Blitzkrieg NA Community League

A number of players from the North American region have approached us in hopes of forming a self-funded Battalion 1944 league. After some initial planning, feedback and working together with the North American community directly, we are happy to announce the Blitzkrieg North American Community League!

New branding and re-launch

A lot has changed in the landscape of esports over the last year and a half since we launched, particularly with Overwatch – the game we focussed on exclusively. We took some time off to reflect and figure out how to move forward, now we’re ready to bounce back bigger and better than before.
